Economic Conditions for Nonprofits – Improving?

We recently surveyed a number of nonprofits, NGO’s and tribal governments about the economic conditions their organizations are facing.  Those surveyed were attendees at Serenic’s user conference, Explorations, and included financial and IT professionals who use Serenic Navigator as their fund accounting software solution.  We asked the following question, and received some encouraging results:

“Do you see the economic conditions in your segment of the nonprofit industry as being poor, improving, or good?”  The results were:

•             Improving:  51%

•             Good:  35%

•             Poor:  14%

While over half of the accounting users indicated improving economic conditions, and over a third reported good conditions, a couple others felt the economy was poor but stable, or steady.  One survey respondent felt that the economy was actually declining in their industry – healthcare.

What do you think?  Share your opinion on the economic conditions in the not-for-profit world.
